Drahá tetičko Hyacinto,

Dear Auntie Hyacinth,

Mnohokrát děkuji za pletený pez-dispensor, je to přesně to, co jsem si vždy přál. V pondělí si ho vezmu do školy a vím, že všechny děti mi budou tak závidět, že mám pletený pez-dispensor, když jejich pez-dispensory jsou vyrobeny jen z nudného starého plastu! Je to opravdu ten nejlepší dárek, který jsem mohl dostat.

Thank you so much for the knitted pez-dispenser, it’s just what I’ve always wanted. I will be taking it to school with me on Monday, and I just know that all the other kids will be so jealous that I have a knitted pez-dispenser, and their pez-dispensers are only made of boring old plastic! It really was the best present I could have possibly got.

Měl jsem moc hezké narozeniny – ráno jsem měl svou nejoblíbenější snídani Vítabiks s nakrájenými datlemi a kozím mlékem a pak mě Ralf vzal do parku a hráli jsme si s létajícím talířem. Odpoledne jsem šel na procházku se Skipprem a málem jsme se stratili! Samozřejmě jsem si sebou vzal svůj pez-dispensor!

I had a really nice birthday – in the morning I had my favourite breakfast of weetabix with sliced dates and goats’ milk, and then Ralph took me down to the park and we played frisbee. In the afternoon I went for a walk with Skipper and we almost got lost! I took my knitted pez-dispenser with me of course!

Na cestě zpět jsem se zastavil abych se podíval na řeku, naklonil jsem se přez okraj a spadl jsem do řeky, která mě strhla svým silným proudem. Skippr mě následoval podél břehu několik set metrů, ale pak ho to přestalo bavit. Proud mě odnášel dvě nebo tři hodiny, než mě konečně vyplivl do moře.

On the way back I stopped to look at the river, and I leaned over the side and fell into the river and was swept away by the tremendously strong current. Skipper followed me along the bank for a few hundred metres, but then he lost interest. I floated with the current for about two or three hours, until I was finally swept out to sea.

Doufám, že jsi Ty i strýček Dirk v pořádku. Těším se, že Vás oba brzy uvidím. Těšíte se na Vánoce?

I hope that all is well with you and uncle Dirk. I am looking forward to seeing you both again soon. Are you excited about Christmas?
